This summer, I had the honor of interning with the Media Research Center as a news analyst for their NewsBusters division. How I got the internship was a God story alone, but all I can do is look back at gratitude from my time there.

I have always wanted an internship in Washington D.C., but had almost no idea where to start looking. Through my internship program, the Washington Fellowship at Liberty University, I was able to see a portal of places to apply for internships and the Media Research Center was one of them.

Before applying, I looked them up for the first time to see what I was getting myself into and to my surprise, it was up my ally for what I wanted in an internship. The Media Research Center counterfeits the left-wing media bias from pop culture to politics. My role was to watch the news and write articles to highlight when the media was either leaving out facts or showing bias to a left-wing agenda.

Watching the news almost 6 hours a day can feel overwhelming. I would come home from my internship and talk about the news again with my roommates who were interested in politics, as well.

As a Christian, I recognize how the media is deceptive, but at the same time, I want to be informed. There is a balance between staying up to date with current events in the country and world, but not letting it paralyze you.
